All eyes are on Namithas new film Azhagana Ponnuthan directed by Thiru.The film is said to be something similar to the 1977 Bharathan-Padmarajan classic in Malayalam Rathinirvedam.
In the film a young 16 year old boy has a huge crush on his 25 year old neighbour played by Jayabharathi, and the film is all about how she finally falls for the boy. Azhagana Ponnuthan has newcomer the 18 year old Karthik falling for Namitha in similar fashion.
But when director Thiru wanted to shoot certain intimate scenes with Namitha and Karthik, the actress refused to do the scenes. Namithas explanation was: I cant do such intimate scenes with a young kid, though I have done similar scenes with actors who are elder to me like Sharat Kumar, Sathyaraj, Vijay and Ajith.
Later the director claims he had to shoot them separately and join the scenes together to get the visual effects of a intimate scene. Please note Namitha who loves to come for launches of her films in short dresses, avoided coming for the Azhagana Ponnuthan audio launch.
