Namitha and Madan starrer’s Moddodu’s title logo was launched recently. Pavuluri Nageswara Rao presents the film on LV International banner and DV Ramana and Srikrishna are the co-producers. MA Chaudhary is directing it.
Madan is being introduced as the hero, the songs are being shot at Bangkok said the filmmaker in the first week of March. Tanikella Bharani, Raghu Babu, Duvvasi Mohan, Pragati, Siri, Suneel are the rest of the cast. Photography is by Kalyan and music is by Sheikh.
Come February 14, the day when that indescribable thing called LOVE is celebrated all over the world, Namitha will step back into the limelight for the music release of her upcoming Kannada film ‘Hoo’.
The siren from the south has been keeping a rather low profile since the release of her last film earlier this year. But on the morning of Valentine’s Day she will be under the arc lights again, along with director-actor V Ravichandran and co-star Meera Jasmine at the audio launch of ‘Hoo’, which marks Namitha’s return to Kannada cinema.
Namitha shares a very good rapport with Ravichandran as it was he who introduced her to Kannada films with ‘Neelkanta’. We learn that the director now wants to bring to the fore a different side of Namitha in ‘Hoo’. So far, Namitha is popularly known as a sex bomb who commands loyal legions of fans in the south, but Ravichandran wants to showcase her acting skills in ‘Hoo’, which is the remake of the Telugu blockbuster ‘Vasantham’.
The movie is set for release in March.
Size zero and all that bankam is gone, even strong proponents of size zero (Kareena kapoor etc) have mellowed down. They are too now returning to being healthy, because what matters is not size, but being healthy and sexy.

If you were among the many who have been thinking that a film’s success depended on how skimpy its heroine’s attire is, then it’s time to change your opinion. A recent study by Anemone Cerridwen and Dean Keith Simonton, a professor of psychology at the University of California, Davis, has concluded that nudity and explicit sex scenes do not translate into success at the box office. Their study, ‘Sex Doesn’t Sell - nor Impress! Content, Box Office, Critics, and Awards in Mainstream Cinema’ examined more than 900 films released between 2001 and 2005, and found that, contrary to popular belief, sex and nudity failed to affect a film’s popularity among viewers or critics.
South Indian film ‘Jaganmohini’, starring Namitha in the lead role, had the actress wear skimpy two-pieces in most part of the film but it still failed to impress the audience. Also, Bollywood film ‘Kurbaan’ with Saif Ali Khan, Kareena Kapoor and Viveik Oberoi bombed at the box office despite of the high star value and a steamy lip lock and love making scene. Kareena’s bare back poster failed to usher audience into the theatres.
The phenomenal rise of the Internet seems to be a major contributing factor in the demise of the demand for sex and skin show in movies.
Despite Indian films not featuring nudity or graphic sex scenes, censor board official Babu Ramasamy feels that even filmmakers and producers in India are under the notion that sex sells. “We make it a point to remove any content that might hurt the sentiments of any section of the audience. But a few persons re-insert such content, under the impression that such scenes will help them commercially.” But, it is just a myth, he adds.
What is more important is whether people here perceive such scenes as acceptable or not acceptable. So, while a Thulluvadho Ilamai or a 7/G, Rainbow Colony, which could justify their sexually-charged scenes, are acceptable, a made-for-titillation flick like the recent Namitha-starrer Nil Gavani Ennai Kadhali and the like, will find no takers. After all, a hint of sex is more enticing than out-and-out nudity.
The versatile Malayalam actor Saikumar is all set to make his debut in the Tollywood industry. He will be seen as the main villain in the movie Simha which has Balakrishna in the main lead. Nayantara, Namitha and Sneha Ullal play the female leads in the film.
Also, actor Rahman is also seen in the film. The movie is directed by Boyapati Srinu. The movie is slated to get released on March.
Namitha Kapoor is all set to become fashion designer, but this will be on screen and is not going to be in real life. Namitha will play the role of a fashion designer in the Telugu movie “SIMHA” opposite to actor Balakrishna.
The actress after playing this role is impressed with the profession and likes to take up the same profession after some years in her real life. Already, in a media interview, Namitha disclosed that actresses in Indian cinema have small life in acting field and so must take up other professions after making merry for some time.
So, Namitha has two thoughts, one is to establish a chain of restaurants in metro cities. The other one seems to be the latest Fashion designing profession it is heard that she has scrapped some advises from Australian fashion designer, for whom she walked on ramp in December and so may think to become a fashion designer in coming days.
